About
A husband, a wife, and a licence.
Power Cords Electric is not a franchise or a lead-generation front. It is two people who own the company, and a certification number you can look up before you call.
Who you’re calling
Philip & Taylor
Cords.
Power Cords Electric is a husband and wife. They introduced the company themselves, in a single post, and it is still the clearest thing anyone could write about it:
“Hey everyone! We wanted to take a minute to introduce ourselves… My name is Philip Cords and this is my wife Taylor and we are the owners of Power Cords Electric. We’ve been married for 3 years now and have a sweet baby girl, Oaklynn Jean, who is our pride and joy.” Philip Cords, introducing the company
Everything on this site is their work, photographed by them, described in their words where they wrote them down. The licence number is real, it is theirs, and it is searchable on the state register.

“Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.”
The licence
Check it.
Please.
Anyone can put the word “licensed” on a website. Here is what the number actually means, so you can tell the difference between a claim and a credential.
- EC13013405
- The certification number itself. Florida requires it on every advertisement a contractor publishes, websites included, which is why it is at the foot of every page here.
- EC, not ER
- EC is a state certified electrical contractor — a state examination and a statewide scope of work. ER is registered, and is limited to the local jurisdictions where a competency exam was passed.
- Verify it yourself
- The number is searchable on the Florida DBPR licensee register. Any contractor worth hiring will expect you to check.
